Design of an integrated tourist route along the Riviera di Ponente, aimed at connecting several towns through a dedicated cycle path created from the former railway line, together with two new panoramic promenades.
A key feature of the project is the enhancement of the Prarola Tower, made accessible through a pedestrian walkway that bypasses the former railway tunnel, offering a privileged view of the monument and the surrounding landscape. The intervention was conceived to combine historical value, aesthetic quality, and environmental sustainability.
Corten steel totems mark the entrance to the walkway and provide information about the route, local history, and safety regulations. Along the path, interpretive panels highlight the site’s heritage and strengthen the connection between territory, culture, and tourism.
The project also includes measures to improve safety and usability, such as widening the underpass for shared use by cyclists and pedestrians, constructing two roundabouts, creating maneuvering lay-bys, and installing a panoramic lift to provide direct access from the cycle path to nearby public offices.
