Design for the reconstruction of the cycle-pedestrian footbridge on Corso Trieste, a project included in the PINQuA – National Innovative Programme for Housing Quality, funded by the European Union under the PNRR – Next Generation EU framework.
The project was developed with the aim of improving the connection between the Via Bosso cycle path and the existing route towards Parco delle Vallere, strengthening the continuity of sustainable mobility in a strategic access point to the Municipality of Moncalieri.
The intervention included the redevelopment of the existing footbridge, the creation of new cycle-pedestrian connections, the upgrading of routes and the removal of architectural barriers, through solutions designed to ensure greater safety, accessibility and comfort for pedestrians, cyclists and people with reduced mobility.
Particular attention was paid to the integration of the work within its urban and landscape context, through the selection of materials and architectural solutions capable of establishing a dialogue with the surrounding environment. The new connection system helps make the crossing of Corso Trieste clearer, safer and more inclusive, while enhancing the relationship between the city, infrastructure and the river landscape.
The intervention represents an important step in the development of sustainable mobility across the area, promoting safer, more accessible and better integrated daily travel within the existing cycle-pedestrian network.
