The aim of the project was to create a tourist route that would connect various residential areas on the western coast. In addition to the cycle path on its own path on the former railway line, two new panoramic pedestrian walks were created. The first concerns the Prarola Tower through the creation of a panoramic passage that goes around the gallery in order to re-evaluate the monumental quality of the tower and create an attractive hub of cultural, tourist and landscape interest. This was achieved through the physical and functional recovery of the area, of the infrastructural, technological and plant components, thanks to an environmental redevelopment of particular technical value aimed at improving the usability of the spaces, the landscape and aesthetic quality of the area.

The entrance to the walkway is marked by Corten totems, which illustrate the route that the user will follow, the attractions that he will find along the way and, obviously, the safety regulations that he will have to respect. On the walkway, instead, there are information totems that tell the story of the Prarola Tower, the coast of Imperia and the natural elements that are found there. This creates points of cultural and social interest, as well as underlining the monumental importance of the Tower. Particular attention was paid to the safety of users of the route, both pedestrians and cyclists. Therefore, the underpass initially planned only for cyclists was widened to also be used as a pedestrian path with reserved space to reduce interference as much as possible. The construction of two roundabouts is also planned in which the characteristics of the Ministerial Decree of 19/04/2006 are respected to increase the comfort of use of the infrastructure for both road users and pedestrians. The project involved the construction of 2 widenings to allow a U-turn at 20 km/h and reserved access for public transport to the stop stations. Finally, the installation of a panoramic lift is planned to allow continuous access to the public offices from the cycle path.
