OLBIA: URBAN PARK AND SPORTS HALL CONSTRUCTION

The project has included interventions for the construction of the bodie of the sports building with parking facilities for athletes and the public, MV/LV transformer cabin, driveway and pedestrian path.
The external arrangements include the construction of equipment for an urban park including the following spaces:
♦ sports areas
♦ amphitheater developing along the steep slope of the terrain
♦ inclusion of plant species suited to the site and climate.
The intervention is located along Via Mosca, in the “Sa Minda Noa” neighborhood north of Olbia, at present a connecting road axis for the existing allotment intervention. The north side of the street faces a large hilly area that is very steep compared to the street level. For construction and economic issues, it was decided to place the sports building in the only portion of the flat area, respecting the distances from environmental and boundary constraints according to the current regulations. The surrounding context has got a unique peculiarity as it is characterized, on the one hand as a conglomerate of new two- and three-story residential buildings and on the other hand as a natural hillside, whose topography of the terrain comes down to 15 m below the street level.
Respecting the environmental and landscape impact, the company took advantage of the development of the ground by creating an amphitheater with stone seats, inserted in green areas and overlooking a big “stage,” that is, a large square in front of the sports building, which also serves as a playground that houses parkour and equipment spaces inside it, games for children, two basketball courts with movable baskets.
