Sertec’s golden year

A year of growth, 2021, for Sertec Engineering of Loranzè which, for 2022, relaunches by looking for new staff.

The Canavese-based company specializes in technical and calculation services in the fields of architecture and civil, plant and environmental engineering. Born in Ivrea in
1968, today operates throughout Italy and follows transalpine orders with a French subsidiary.

«2020, despite the health crisis, was a year of growth for us – says engineer Domenico Gabriele, sole director of Sertec -. Growth that continued in 2021, which will close with a global turnover of the group estimated at around 3 million, with an increase of approximately 38% in the last three years. At the end of 2020 we also decided to acquire premises in the same building as our offices, both to have more spaces that would allow us to work safely, following the covid protocols, and to be able to increase our sectors dedicated to architecture and tender office”.

The renovation of the new offices finished in March this year. In addition to new workstations, inserted in an open space, the rooms house the new reception, two meeting rooms and some ancillary rooms. Now these new premises will also be useful for welcoming new professionals: «The new activities started, and about to start, require new talents to integrate into our structure – explains Gabriele -. We follow a modular and multidisciplinary philosophy: both the different design sectors and, I would say above all, the people work together to achieve the best result. Ours are, above all, choral works, in which different professionalisms interact.”

At the moment Sertec Engineering is mainly looking for electrical engineers for the design of systems. «But we are happy to receive and analyze CVs from various engineering and architecture specialties: just send your CV to info@sertecengineering. com”, specify Sertec.

Today, over 50 people work in Sertec Engineering, including partners and collaborators. Of these, 80% are made up of Canavese residents, «But, we can proudly say, we manage to attract professionals from other areas of Italy to the area as well».

In recent years the company has moved towards various “green” projects linked to cycle mobility: in June 2020, in Imperia, the construction site to convert the former railway into a 9 kilometer cycle/pedestrian path was inaugurated while in Sardinia it is underway a further project which includes three new routes.

In Piedmont, in Collegno and Rivoli, the works related to the new Line 1 of the SCM, Metropolitan Cycle Service, are finishing and in Turin four projects have started for as many cycle routes connecting the capital and various municipalities in the hinterland. The latest milestone achieved in this field is represented by the awarding of the “Italia City Branding” tender for the City of Verbania for the design and direction of the works of the cycle path that will connect the city and the lake.

Sertec currently has 540 active projects, of which 290 in the Canavese area.

In Canavese, Sertec Engineering recently completed the renovation of the municipal offices in Lessolo and has the construction site of the new oncology research center at the Bioindustry Park underway.

«Our connection with the territory has never wavered since our foundation – highlights Gabriele -.  In addition to the construction sites and designs that are requested of us by public and private organizations in Canavese, we are always available to be partners in financed projects and also for inspections and feasibility studies. These “consultations” do not always turn into paid activities, but if a Mayor, an administrator, calls us for advice, we never hold back: we know how much our company, in terms of history and culture, owes to territory and we consider it a pleasure to be able to give something back in terms of competence and innovation”
