VALORIZATION OF THE DISUSED MINING SITE

The Municipality of Malonno has entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the valorization and recovery values ​​of the abandoned mining heritage.

The objective of the intervention is to return to the community a mining park that can promote, recovering and valorizing what is still present in the territory of Malonno, a knowledge of the historical testimonies, which includes information relating to the mines, extraction techniques, geological and mineralogical values, in order not to disperse this historical/cultural heritage of particular importance.

The aim is to increase tourist attractiveness by offering complete information according to the principles of emotional, educational and technical musealization.

The project evaluated several aspects that are considered fundamental for a balanced development of the area, attentive to the growth opportunities of the territory, which allows multiple experiences of use, even of an interdisciplinary type:

♦ environmental and naturalistic aspects

♦ geological, mineralogical, lithological, stratigraphic, structural and above all depositological aspects

♦ industrial archaeology and technological aspects

♦ historical-cultural aspects

♦ tourist aspects

The project intends to carry out interventions that, by recovering some areas and artifacts, external paths and some mining galleries, can highlight the peculiarities of the site and the mining tradition.
