The Municipality of Fontainemore has entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the project for the safety works of the Theilly landslide.
The site in question is located in the middle Lys valley, on the right bank of the stream, in correspondence with the glacial terrace on which the hamlet of Theilly stands. In particular, the inhabited nucleus is located on a sub-flat glacial shoulder, while the terrace escarpment, which connects the plateau and the underlying Lys valley, is evidently reworked by the slope dynamics and fluvial erosion. The entire slope area has historically been the site of landslides, therefore the intervention involves the implementation of the following works:
♦ construction of construction site tracks
♦ construction of a temporary embankment to protect the pylon, to be created before the execution of the scaling and demolition of the unsafe boulders and to be dismantled before the construction of the valley road
♦ demolition of rock masses and execution of scaling of the unsafe boulders of the landslide slope
♦ slight re-profiling of the landslide slope
♦ installation of HDPE geomembrane in the upstream sector of the slope to waterproof the fill soil behind the gabions
♦ laying of double-twisted mesh with steel cables
♦ laying of agricultural soil to a thickness of 5 cm and subsequent grassing
♦ construction of wells in dry-laid boulders with function of connecting the steel half pipes
♦ installation of semicircular channels for the regulation of rainwater
♦ restoration of the valley road
♦ construction of crossings on the valley road
♦ installation of inclinometer and piezometer for monitoring landslide movement
♦ installation of rain gauge for monitoring atmospheric precipitation
♦ installation of metal bars for closing the section of the valley road in the event of heavy rainfall or in the event of emergencies
