The Municipal Administration of Salassa has entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the project for the restoration and refunctionalization of Villa Nigra.
The objective of the interventions is to develop an ambitious redevelopment and restoration project
conservation and refunctionalization of Villa Nigra with adjoining park-garden, historic residence of
Costantino Nigra, well-known Italian politician, philologist, poet and diplomat of the Italian Risorgimento.
The villa is located at the top of a hill in the municipality of Castelnuovo Nigra and is made up of several connected parts: the house-residence built adjacent to the ruins of the Castle of the Counts of San Martino; the ruins of the tower and the castle; an external building with the function of a winter garden equipped with large windows with an adjoining room of smaller surface area originally used as a stable; a large garden park spread over several levels.
Given the complexity of the works and the state of total abandonment of the villa and park, it was necessary to divide the study of the preliminary interventions by identifying 5 intervention lots:
