Intermodal and integrated sustainable mobility system” in the municipality of Verbania
Sertec Engineering Consulting srl was awarded the assignment for the definitive and executive design and works management, including safety coordination in the design and execution phase, of the “Italia City Branding 2020 – Intermodal and integrated Sustainable Mobility System” interventions in Municipality of Verbania.
The objective of the project is to reconnect the city with the lake, connecting Verbania and the highly fragmented long lake. The cycle path will become the thread with which to stitch together the territory on the different levels. First of all, the project will allow the three city centers of Intra, Pallanza and Suna to be restored. It will allow the lake to be returned to the community by making it more accessible and usable, not only for tourists, but also for commuters.
Sertec will design a single cycle network that connects the individual regeneration interventions already started or proposed by the Municipality with a view to unifying the project and the city.
We will therefore propose the creation of a design of the entire network that connects the individual fragments also allowing to generate a connection with the Center of the new City of Verbania and the Historic Centers of the Hamlets and the suburbs.
The connection of the cycle path network from the lakeside to the hinterland will allow a redevelopment of the suburbs, with a view to aggregation and social integration.
