MONCALIERI – TURIN: CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SPILLWAY CANAL

The Moncalieri Municipal Administration has entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the supervision of works as part of the project to build a new spillway canal between the Ficca Canal and the city bridges of the Po river.
Sertec s.r.l. has commissioned the company that won the works to carry out 4 geognostic excavations in order to punctually characterize the stratigraphic, lithological and hydrogeological structure of the areas affected by the most important excavation operations, where, for example, the most significant works such as retaining walls and larger underground works are carried out, planned at the Agenzia delle Entrate site and the Ficca Canal site.
The planned works consist of two lift stations and two canals that feed water to the lift station and to the closing of the crossings with vincian gates in the case of road crossings and clapet valves for the pipeline crossings.
The canal bottom and banks are made of reinforced concrete with varying heights to ensure the containment of the maximum flood levels of the Po river. The sluice gates, for the canals and lift station management, are planned to be made of steel, hot-dip galvanized before the installation.
