IVREA – TURIN: CONNECTION OF THE DIRECT DRAINS AND HYDRAULIC COLLECTOR COMPLETION

SMAT S.p.a. (Società Metropolitana Acque Torino, Turin Metropolitan Water Company, Ltd.) entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the project for the connection of the direct drains in Aldisio area and the completion of the collector in Corso Cavour – Piazzale del Ghiaro section , in the Municipality of Ivrea.
This project concerns the part of the town of Ivrea located on the hydrographic left of the Dora Baltea River and the portion of the historic center to the west of the junction between Corso Cavour and Lungo Dora.
The planned sewage works were divided into 3 distinct interventions:
♦ construction of drains not reached by the interceptor sewer network in the historic center of Ivrea
♦ black sewer connection of a group of houses located at the beginning of Via Casale that at present discharge into the Ivrea Canal
♦ extension of the final sewer in the San Giovanni neighborhood towards the Dora Baltea River so as to avoid backflow
The intervention focused on the use of materials with advanced technological features in order to have a minimal impact on the surrounding environment, greater durability, safety, and less maintenance of the works.
