CREATION OF A MUSEUM AND AN INFO POINT IN OLLOMONT

The Municipal Administration of Ollomont has entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the project within the INTERREG programme, which aims to create a reception point to enhance local mines, within the framework of a European programme. The design follows the guidelines of the MIMonVE project, developed with the Polytechnic of Turin, for integrated and coordinated interventions, improving the visual and cultural identity of the museum works. The proposed solutions are the result of a collaboration between the municipal administration of Ollomont, the Polytechnic of Turin and the group of designers, based on a critical evaluation of the guidelines and an in-depth analysis of the intervention area.

In particular, the interventions planned in the area are:

♦ The expansion of the main building to accommodate info points with ticket office and lounge

multifunctional for recreational, gymnastic and educational activities, adjacent to the historic entrance of the

mine;

♦ The creation of an archaeo-metallurgy laboratory for scientific educational purposes;

♦ The reorganization of the existing rooms used as WCs with the inclusion of a usable bathroom

to users with disabilities.
