CYCLING CONNECTIONS IN THE SOUTHERN QUADRANT OF TURIN

The intervention is located within the southern quadrant of the City of Turin, specifically on some specific sections of Turin mobility, identified as priority axes of intervention:

♦ Corso Orbassano

♦ Corso Unione Sovietica – connection to Stupinigi

♦ Strada del Drosso – connections to Beinasco – Borgaretto

♦ Cycle connections towards Grugliasco.

The project includes the study for the construction of cycle paths along the routes identified as the best alternatives in the feasibility study as well as the redevelopment of public space along the axes with particular attention to pedestrian access and accessibility. The intervention includes a participatory design process, through the involvement of entities managing the underground utility networks, the Districts involved, and the Metropolitan City. This process consists of a series of meetings and round tables, during which the project is explained to technical and non-technical interlocutors, and observations are collected aimed at improving the guidelines of the design itself.
