SMAT S.P.A. entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the project for the construction of the Barelli Trucca sewerage system, the replacement of the Fornello Foschietto aqueduct network, the construction of the lifting station and the Rosone sewerage network in the municipality of Locana.
The project involved the implementation of the interventions described below:
♦ sewerage works: the main intervention involved the construction of a sewerage pipe, partly free-flowing and partly under pressure, to connect the Locana sewerage system to the village of Fornolosa
♦ aqueduct works: the intervention for the construction of the aqueduct networks involved the replacement of the main pipeline of the so-called Rosone-Cussalma aqueduct, from the hamlet of Fornolosa, up to the limit of the Locana concentric area, near the Bottegotto locality
♦ lifting stations: in the lifting stations, two electrosubmersible pumps were used for alternative operation and, therefore, both capable of lifting the design capacity.
♦ restoration of roads: for the backfilling, the earth and rocks deriving from the excavation carried out previously were reused. On the provincial road, the restoration work was carried out by spreading a layer of binder on the excavation strip and a layer of wearing carpet across the entire width of the provincial road.
The project envisaged aerial crossings, characterized by the creation of reticular structures capable of supporting the pipes, statically independent of the existing bridges, or by positioning the pipes in the center of the travel lane, so as to affect as little as possible the road strip subject to the contact with vehicle tyres.
