CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW DRAINAGE CHANNEL

The Municipal Administration of Moncalieri has entrusted Sertec Engineering Consulting with the management of the works as part of the project for the construction of the new spillway between the Ficca canal and the city bridges of the Po river.

Sertec s.r.l. has instructed the company contracting the works to carry out 4 geognostic wells in order to promptly characterize the stratigraphic, lithological and hydrogeological structure of the areas affected by the most important excavation operations, where for example the most significant works such as retaining walls and works are carried out larger underground structures, planned for the Revenue Agency construction site and that of the Ficca Canal. 

The planned works consist of two lifting stations and two channels that convey the water to the lifting station as well as the closure of the openings with Vincian gates in the case of road crossings and clapet valves for pipeline crossings. 

The canal has a bottom and sides made of reinforced concrete. with variable heights to ensure the containment of the maximum flood levels of the Po. The gates for the management of the channels and the lifting station are made of steel, hot-dip galvanized before installation.
