TRAIL SCARPATION REPAIR

The municipality of Monticello d’Alba has commissioned Sertec Engineering Consulting to carry out the works to fix the slope of the paths of via Alba.

The planned intervention is necessary to stabilize a widespread phenomenon of instability triggered by the rainfall of April 2009, giving rise to widespread landslides of the alteration cover of the substrate with landslides of debris on the underlying via Alba and behind the existing homes, at the bends.

The project interventions are of 3 types:

♦ reinforced concrete wall founded on micropiles with tie rods

♦ reef founded on reinforced concrete curb on micropiles

♦ simple reef

The wall, with a rectangular section, has a facing of height equal to 3 meters with a thickness of 30 cm, and a foundation of thickness equal to 0.5 meters and width equal to 2.15 meters, placed on a cleaning jet of thickness equal to 10 cm, from which a French gutter is set. On the valley façade the wall is covered with terracotta bricks. On the top of the wall is positioned a reinforced concrete cover of width equal to 45 cm on which a steel protection mesh anchored to HEA 100 steel profiles will be installed.

In order to guarantee greater resistance, it was planned to anchor the foundation of the wall with micropiles arranged in a quincunx with spacing equal to 2 meters between the piles and 4 meters in the row. The micropiles, with a total length of 6 meters, will have tubular reinforcement with a diameter of Ø=114 mm, a thickness of 10 mm and a minimum perforation diameter of 140 mm. The wall has tie rods with a length of 20 meters, a 15 meter foundation, a perforation of 160 mm and reinforced with 26.5 mm pre-stressed steel rods.

Surface water regulation interventions have also been planned and, specifically, the following works:

♦ earth channels and water regulation works

♦ completion of water regulation in via Borghetto, on the mountain road
