Sertec Engineering Consulting carried out the technical, administrative, static and functional testing of the aqueduct systems serving the Susa Valley – Lot V and in particular the water purification plant in the municipality of Bardonecchia and overall automation of the aqueduct system.

An infrastructure designed to solve the historic quantitative and qualitative shortage of water in many municipalities of the Susa Valley and to prevent climate change. The work involves the entire Susa Valley: 27 municipalities, from Bardonecchia to Caselette, through the construction of a main pipeline capable of representing an alternative and integrative water supply element to the local systems that highlight supply criticalities.

96 km of pipelines with a flow rate of 600 liters of water per second, for which almost 10 years of work were needed.

The new aqueduct allows the diversion of water for drinking purposes, coming from the Rochemolles dam, immediately downstream of the Enel hydroelectric plant in Bardonecchia, the adduction up to Caselette, the supply of the aqueducts of the municipalities served by the pipeline, the production of 13 million kWh of hydroelectric energy through three plants that exploit the potential energy of the water adducted to make the entire system energy autonomous and the construction of three reservoirs, located respectively in Salbertrand in the Deveys area, in Chiomonte in the Lombarde area and in Gravere in the Grosse Pietre area.
