Creation of a new cross-border public space – Piazza Transalpina / Trg Evrope, a symbolic heart between Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia), in preparation for GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture.
The intervention included the installation of new Karst stone paving, the upgrading of underground utilities, the creation of a central area dedicated to cultural events, and the introduction of urban furnishings and green elements. The square is now an open and shared space, designed to connect two cities and two communities.
A complex and highly symbolic project, representing a model of European cooperation expressed through engineering and the design of public space.
