RIO SAN PIETRO BYPASS CHANNEL

Hydraulic Risk Reduction

Client: Castellamonte Municipality

Budget:

Partner: –

The project involves the construction of a new underground channel for the Rio San Pietro, approximately 1.7 km long and with a diameter of 2.2 metres, designed to convey flows of up to 12 m³/s toward the Orco River. The intervention is aimed at reducing flood risk in the urban area of Castellamonte, protecting buildings, infrastructure and agricultural land, while significantly improving the overall hydraulic safety of the territory.

SERTEC S.r.l. is responsible for Construction Supervision and Safety Coordination, ensuring that all phases of the works are carried out in full compliance with current technical, environmental and safety regulations.

The channel, built in reinforced concrete and entirely underground, has been designed to minimise visual and environmental impact. The main crossings are executed using “no-dig” technologies, reducing interference with road traffic, agricultural activities and existing infrastructure, while ensuring construction efficiency and environmental sustainability.
