Pozzolo Castle

Restoration of Pozzolo Castle

Client: Pozzolo Formigaro Municipality

Budget: € 400.090,69

Partner: Arch. Silvia Rizzo

The intervention aims to enhance public spaces, improve accessibility through new routes and services, and restore the damaged portions of the castle while preserving its architectural identity. Inside the building, the historic areas will be enhanced through museum functions, a panoramic viewing terrace will be created on the tower, and the currently unused attic spaces will be rehabilitated. New accessible restrooms will be provided to support events held in the inner courtyard.

The project also includes maintenance of the garden, with the addition of a pedestrian path, seating, and safety railings; restoration of existing structures through cleaning and repair works; the installation of a glazed partition in the council chamber to provide a visual and functional connection with the attic level; and the creation of a café and accessible service areas, with particular attention to the restoration of the arches and the installation of new window and door frames.
