Olivetti Nursery School

Restauro e risanamento dell’ex asilo Olivetti

Client: Ivrea Municipality

Budget: €1.708.650,00

Partner: –

The project concerns the restoration, conservation rehabilitation, and extraordinary maintenance of the former Olivetti Nursery School in Ivrea, with the aim of returning one of the city’s landmark buildings to the community and reopening it to the public.

The intervention is structured around three main objectives: ensuring the functional and structural upgrading of the historic building to meet contemporary early childhood education requirements; enhancing the architectural value of the building designed in 1939 by Figini and Pollini; and completing the redevelopment of the external areas by restoring the extensive green spaces and original features — including the fountain, pergola, and boundary fences — while reinstating the garden as a natural extension of the interior spaces.

The project will therefore restore the outdoor recreational areas and reopen the historic garden to the community.
