A benchmark cycling route for the Lake Maggiore area was created, approximately 6.5 km long and divided into five homogeneous sections based on road context and traffic conditions.
The project included the resurfacing of the pavement with interlocking concrete blocks and the creation of different types of routes: cycle paths, shared pedestrian-cycle paths, 30 km/h zones, limited traffic zones, and pedestrian areas, all integrated with horizontal and vertical signage.
A key element of the project was the pedestrian and cycle bridge over the San Bernardino stream, designed in collaboration with the Superintendency to blend harmoniously into the landscape and offer new panoramic viewpoints without altering the view of the lake.
