The conference for the presentation of the Lake Maggiore Cycle Route took place on Friday 30 June 2023 in Stresa, with the participation of the President of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio and the Transport Councilor Marco Gabusi

The Lake Maggiore Cycle Route is part of a larger project which includes 3 cycle routes: the “Corona di Delizie”, connection between the Piedmontese royal residences, the Unesco Hills Cycle Route and the Lake Maggiore Cycle Route.

The Lake Maggiore Cycle Route is a PILOT PROJECT for the Piedmont Region which starts from Stresa and arrives in Verbania along the entire length of the lake for a total of 15 km for which Sertec took care of the feasibility study.

To date, the stretch between Stresa and Verbania can count on these data:

30,000 commuters who travel every day
2 million/year of transits along the lake
4 million/year of socio-environmental costs
23,300 t of CO2
34% of total transport emissions

The objective of the project is to create an exclusive route, totally safe and with a dual function, for tourism and for daily use so as to ease traffic and reduce pollution.
